San Joaquin Valley Homes Reports Brisk Sales in 2023 With the Close of 549 New Homes

Local Home Builder Plans to Open at Least Nine New Communities in the Central Valley This Year

VISALIA, Calif. – February 27, 2024 – San Joaquin Valley Homes (SJV Homes) was the most active builder in the San Joaquin Valley in 2023, despite a sluggish market due in large part to high mortgage rates. The local homebuilder closed on 549 newly constructed homes, generating revenue of more than $241 million.

SJV Homes pulled more permits in both Kings and Tulare counties in 2023, more than any other national or local homebuilder, according to data provided by the Construction Monitor, which tracks building records nationwide.

“As we embark on another exciting year, we're optimistic about the opportunities ahead in the Central Valley housing market,” said Joe Leal, co-founder of SJV Homes. “With interest rates becoming more favorable, we're poised to keep up a healthy pace of acquisitions and home building with solid sales rates in 2024.”

SJV Homes sold out three communities and opened two new neighborhoods last year. In 2024 it plans to open nine communities – plus the expansion of existing communities – that will provide an additional 1,600 new homes to the valley.

·        Brookside (111 lots) & Laurelwood (118 lots) in Porterville

·        Sycamore Ranch (92 lots) in Visalia
