Helpful Features for Your Closet

March 28, 2022

When you open the closet doors in your new home, you’re essentially looking at a space that is screaming for customization. Whether it’s your child’s closet, a linen closet or a walk-in closet, there is a range of helpful tools and solutions to make it just what you want and need. These handy accessories may make a world of difference for you when it comes to being organized and tidy. We’ve checked out the latest in closet customization to provide this list of options for you.

Valet rod. Ideally this will be telescoping, so it can be hidden away when not in use. A valet rod is a super convenient closet accessory that can be used to hang clothes for planning outfits or packing for a holiday. If you hang it in your child’s closet, hang at a lower level and put his or her clothes on it the night before to make getting ready for school the next day a snap!

Tie rack. No need to hang ties from a hanger or roll them up in a drawer. Instead have a dedicated rack where you can see them all at a glance. They can be organized by color and occasion for easy access, and they will stay in good condition for a long time.

Hooks. Don’t just think of a row of simple hooks on a wall. First of all, think about how you want them to look (decorative) and their function. Consider multiple sizes hung at multiple heights for multiple uses. For example, you can use a row of them for handbags or install some high for hats or at a lower level for items you use often. Plan their uses out in advance and install accordingly.

Pull out ironing board. Why run to another room to iron your clothes when you can do it right at the source. This handy work item can be sneakily stored in your closet and pulled out when you need it. When you’re done, simply fold it up and slide it back where it goes.
