Mammoth Lakes
Each year Mammoth Mountain averages 30 feet of snow. Skiers and snowboarders loyally journey to the mountain annually to get their winter on. And if you’re not prone to winter sports, you can still bundle up and travel to the summit at 11,000 feet elevation on a gondola that ends with an awe-inspiring scenic overlook.
June Lake
Forget it’s summery name! June Lake in winter is the place to be for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and playing. It’s a gentle, wide ski hill is perfect for skiers who don’t like the big crowds and have a more laid-back or beginner approach to skiing and snowboarding.
Yosemite National Park
If you think it’s pretty during the summer, wait until you see it in the winter. With a marked decrease in crowds, you can revel in its splendor while ice skating at Half Dome and skiing at Badger Pass. Additionally, it has 22 miles of trails that are just right for cross-country skiing.
