Special Mother's Day Activities for Everyone

April 25, 2022

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, so you might be starting to plan a unique or special day with this very important person in your life whomever she may be. These gift ideas range from experiences to places to visit. No matter what you choose to do, she’ll for sure love the effort and enjoy spending the time with her loved ones.

Start a book club. Decide upon six books for a year to read together and then have your own discussion about them. This can be a family activity or just one between mom and her kids. If she doesn’t live close this is a great opportunity to utilize your video chat.

Go on an outing. Instead of the traditional brunch (which is always a good idea!) think of another outing that might be fun and something you haven’t done in a while – especially if all the kids are now adults. Consider a local aquarium, zoo, or even a theme park so everyone can feel like a kid again!

Go camping or glamping. With all the wonderful spots in and around the Central Valley, fire up the motorhome, dust off the tent, or rent an RV for a weekend or longer of camping fun with mom, and of course the more who come along the merrier. Make sure, though, she still gets treated like a queen – no dishwashing for her!

Take a class together. Classes are a lovely way to share an interest while spending time together. Ideas could be flower arranging, painting, cooking, photography or even an exercise class!

Hire a photographer or DIY. Schedule time with a professional local photographer to capture this day with her and her family or you can even try to do it yourself with a tripod and a light ring. Think ahead about the backdrop and scout possible locations if your own home isn’t the mood you’re going for.

If you are searching for a new home, San Joaquin Valley Homes is still busy building homes throughout the Central Valley. Our model homes are open daily and virtual tours are available on our website for your convenience. Our model hours are Sunday and Monday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit www.sjvhomes.com for more information.
