One of the smallest rooms in your house is also one of the most important and visited– the powder room. Not only used by the home’s residents, but it is also often seen by guests. Here are a few ways to make this little spot convenient and pleasing to all. And because of its size, it can be a really fun room to decorate!
Be Dramatic. Since it’s such a small space, this is where you can really let loose on design. A dark color – even on the ceiling – won’t go wrong. And if you don’t love the finished product, it’s easy to redo.
Experiment with Wallpaper. You can either paper the entire room or just do one wall and get away with a really exotic or fun design. You can tone it down by painting solid colors on the other walls.
Splurge. You may be able to spend a little more money in this room because you don’t need much. This is the time to purchase that really fancy faucet set you’ve been eyeing or a beautiful high-end floor tile.
Be Unified. Be sure to be consistent in design throughout this space. As long as you keep this rule in mind, it won’t matter if it’s a completely different esthetic than the rest of your home.
Hidden Storage. If you have a good-sized vanity, you can use it to secretly store items in your home you may not have a regular spot for. This can be anything from a backstock of cleaning supplies to extra paper goods.
