Dinuba- A Little City With a Small Town Feel

Are you considering relocating to a new city or town within the San Joaquin Valley? This area is ripe with history, and in select places, small town charm and a pace more suited for those who are considering the journey, not just the destination. Take Dinuba, California, for example. It’s packed with parks, museums – the Alta District Museum is housed in a restored railroad station – and is only 90 miles from the famed Yosemite National Park and 25 miles from Fresno. Living in a small town has it perks like being in close-knit community, less traffic, fewer crowds and a more general sense of calm.
Originally named Sibleyville after engineer James Sibley, Sibleyville was built around a Southern Pacific Railroad depot the during the late 1800s. After a dramatic iconic western shootout, Sibley and a gentleman named W.D. Tuxbury devoted more than 240 acres for the development of a new town.
Today Dinuba in Tulare County represents a diverse population of approximately 25,000 people and is a welcome affordable housing option. The average commute time for those who live here is a quick 20 minutes, and for those with younger sets, the many elementary and middle school feed Dinuba High School – go Emperors!
Steeped in agriculture, thanks to the area’s fertile soils and warm climate, major employers in this area include Fruit Patch, Family Tree Farms, Apio Produce and Ruiz Food Products. Additionally, there is a Best Buy distribution center nearby.
Fun annual events in Dinuba include a Spring Fling, Fall Harvest Fling, Halloween and Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting held the first Sunday in December, so there’s lots of fun for everyone. To commemorate a more somber time in history is a replica of the Vietnam Wall is located at the Dinuba Veterans Memorial Building.
In Dinuba we have built Viscaya, a community with homes that range from 1,443 to 2,100 square feet with huge lots and spacious floor plans, perfect sized homes for growing families or for those whose nest is starting to empty.
